Fairy Furniture - For A Dream House.  Colleen Moore, with part of the amazing collection of furniture she has assembled for her magnificent doll house.  Miss Moore, who is soon to be seen on the screen with Douglas Fairbanks Jr in RKO-Radio Pictures’ Success Story, has collected treasures from all parts of the world for the doll house.  The tiny mansion of eleven rooms, built on the scale of one inch to one foot, is practically completed, and Miss Moore expects to have it placed on display in department stores in every city in the country.  A nominal admission will be charged to view it, and all proceeds will be given to children’s hospitals.  photo dated February 9, 1934

The mechanical man has been ‘humanized’ in some respects and taught some of the manners of polite society. The Westinghouse robot - Mr Willie Vocalite - shown in this photograph smokes cigarettes and obligingly ‘gives a light’ to his companion. Another robot in Pennsylvania State College with a glass throat and water lungs puffs cigars all day long and reports scientific facts about tobacco which the most expert human smokers could not find out.  photo taken on April 16th, 1931
